The National Football League season is on as the players association today reportedly approved a new agreement, passe by NFL owners last week, to end the lockout that started last winter.

The Tennessee Titans, lacking a veteran quarterback on the roster as Vince Young is expected to be released, possbily as early as Tuesday, have targeted "certain players in the veteran free agent market," General Manager Mike Reinfeldt said this afternoon.

Seattle's Matt Hasselbech is rumored to be tops on the Titans' list as they seek a veteran quarterback with the release of Young and the recent retirement of Kerry Collins as top draft pick Jake Locker progresses.

Teams can begin normal trading, signing and other player contract arrangements as early as Tuesday and are expected to start practice this week, some by Wednesday.

“We have crafted a plan for our roster and now we will implement that plan. There are a number of our own players that we would like to have return and we have targeted certain players in the veteran free agent market. This will be an unusual time and the roster will be evolving throughout the preseason, but I am confident that it will be where we want it by the time we start the regular season.”

“This has been a long offseason and we have taken advantage of that as a staff. We are really excited that there is a labor resolution and now we can get the team together to starting building something special.
